“You’ve got to accentuate the positive! You have to eliminate the negative and latch on to the affirmative. Don’t mess around with Mr. In-Between.” (Song by Hoagy Carmichael)
Revelation 3:15 I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.
There are going to be disappointments in our lives. There is no fault on God’s side of the equation.
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
A lot of times if we aren’t careful, we will start focusing on our faults. God sent Jesus to pay for all of our faults. Whatever is going on in your life has been nailed to the cross. Accentuate the positive in whatever situation you are going through. At some time in your life, you are going to have to step over into the rest that God has put something on the inside of you, and just because it doesn’t look like it’s changing on the outside, you have to know the treasure within you.
2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
God put the Holy Spirit inside of you. While you deal with life, focus on the treasure on the inside of you, the Holy Ghost.
We want to focus on what Jesus did right, not on what we have done wrong. His unlimited supply of power is available.
The very power that cleansed Jesus and caused Him to be raised from the dead, that power is on the inside of you. If the power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to you, then whatever you are going through, the power of God that resides in you is more than enough.
2 Cor. 4:7 (The Voice) But this beautiful treasure is contained in us–cracked pots made of earth and clay–so that the transcendent character of this power will be clearly seen as coming from God and not from us.
2 Cor. 1:8 – For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
2 Cor 1:8 (Phillips) We should like you, our brothers, to know something of what we went through in Asia. At that time we were completely overwhelmed, the burden was more than we could bear, in fact we told ourselves that this was the end.
Paul learned to focus on the treasure inside of him.
The love of Christ keeps us together; It’s working on the inside of us. The love of Christ constrains us.
God loves us so much, He will let us know if we’ve done something wrong.
There is no fault in God; because we are in Christ, there is no fault in us. We have the power of God in us!
Focus on the treasure within you, not on your outer circumstances. The Holy Spirit is at work on the inside of you. The Holy Spirit is your Helper. We have the power of God inside us.
2 Cor 5:21 God made Jesus who knew no sin, to be sin for us so that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.
God is working, regardless of what you see. Focus on the fact that whatever you’re going through, you have a treasure, the Holy Spirit, on the inside of you. He will lead you and guide you into all the truth.
