1 Timothy 6:6 “Now godliness with contentment is great gain.”
2 Corinthians 9:8 “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”
Contentment = Sufficiency.
The Greek word translated “contentment” in 1 Timothy 6:6 is the same word that is translated
“abundance” in 2 Corinthians 9:8.
Be happy in the knowledge that you are blessed.
God is saying in these verses “Here’s all you have to do. Just be content in me and watch me work. Just sit back and relax and watch me fulfill my promises.”
With God, timing is everything. His timing is the best timing.
If Godliness with contentment is the source of great gain, then discontentment is the reason for lack.
God is never at fault. We’re the ones who miss it.
Biblical definition of prosperity: Always having all sufficiency in all things with abundance left over for every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8).
Ecclesiastes 4:6 “Better a handful with quietness than both hands full, together with toil and grasping for the wind.”
Less really is more. Less worrying produces more blessings in your life. Less striving produces better results.
Every branch that bears fruit He prunes so that it will keep bearing fruit.
Regarding giving, instead of waving goodbye to your seed, wave hello to your harvest that will be coming.
Sometimes having less “stuff” to take care of, maintain, store, etc., liberates you to have the time and resources to do more. Pastor gave the example of his ministry having an airplane that it cost him more to fly in that what it profited him. Other ministries have a large enough staff and enough appointments that having an airplane benefits them. Sometimes, less is more.
Thus saith the Lord – “Relax.” Thus saith the Lord – “Take a chill pill. Relax, He’s gonna take care of you.
You won’t have to worry, you won’t have to want, cause God is gonna give you everything that you need and desire in His time, this is true. God has good things in store for you. So pray and believe and receive by faith and just rest, knowing that God’s gonna come through for you and you will have the best.”
