You’re a lot bigger on the inside (spirit) than you are on the outside (body). The spirit is the part of you that is already seated in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). The spirit part of you extends beyond the limitations of the mind and body (2 Kings 5:26). Paul said he was absent in the flesh, but with the Colossians in the spirit (Colossians 2:5).
The spirit realm is so real that when Paul was caught up into heaven, he didn’t know for sure whether he (as a spirit) was in his physical body or outside of his physical body (2 Corinthians 12:2).
1 Thessalonians 5:23 “Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Ecclesiastes 12:7 “Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.”
Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”
You are a spirit-soul-body person, not just a spirit who has a soul and who lives in a body. You are all three. They are elements that can be divided, or distinguished between, yet they are integrated parts of the whole.
The God of peace (1 Thes. 5:23) wants your sprit-soul-body elements to be at peace by being in agreement and harmony together.
In order to get into agreement with your spirit man, you have to renew your mind so you can find out who you are, whose you are, what you have, and what you can do through your divine union.
Right believing (spirit) produces right thinking (soul) which produces results in the physical realm.
The carnal mind is a mind that is not in agreement with God.
James 1:21 “Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.”
The part of you that is soul is not going to be dissolved when you die. You’re going to have a personality in heaven, not just be a disembodied spirit.
We need to ask ourselves, how much of our life is going to perish like wood, hay, and stubble being burned up because they are incompatible with heaven (1 Corinthians 3:10-15).
Hebrews 12:27 “Now this, “YET ONCE MORE,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.”
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.”
Right thinking has a lot to do with right talking. If you start talking faith, you’ll start believing faith.
Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Metamorphosis: To undergo a complete physical change in form, function, structure, or substance.
1 John 3:7 “Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous.”
Doing good things, beneficial things, produces good patterns and good thoughts that allow us to believe right, think right, and do right.
