February 22, 2025Don’t Blow Your Cover!
March 1, 2025When I was a teenager, I loved working on my car, and I remember the day that I decided to swap out some suspension parts on my VW. After taking the whole weekend, tearing down and reassembling the project, I was left with an extra bolt in my tool tray. I went to my dad, who was a former VW mechanic, and said, “Hey Dad, I’m done with the car, but I have this extra bolt.”
My dad laughed and said, “Son, you’re not done. When it comes to working on cars, there’s no such thing as extra bolts. Work backwards through your assembly steps and you’ll find where that bolt is supposed to go and make sure you torque everything to spec.”
When a mistep or poor choice leaves you feeling lost like an extra bolt, work yourself back to His Commandments and torque everything to a spec with these Old and New Testament verses of the day:
“I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; For I do not forget thy commandments.”
Psalm 119:176 KJV
“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, And a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105 KJV
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
John 14:6 KJV
“For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.”
Matthew 18:11 KJV
