The Most Important Thing a Believer Can Ever Know
July 4, 2026Old-time Christians knew something we need to know. They quoted this scripture over people who were bleeding to stop the bleeding. I even heard that from one of my mentors, the highly respected Reverend J.R.R. Goodwin, Brother Kenneth E. Hagin’s best friend. He said it worked every time he used it.
Without a doubt, you have to say it in faith. All the promises of God require faith as a condition for receiving.
I have used the scripture myself. One Sunday morning, a lady jumped out of her seat and ran to the restroom, holding her nose, which was bleeding profusely.
I saw her and knew instantly what had happened. I don’t think anyone else knew her nose was bleeding. As she ran down the side aisle, I said, “And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.” Then I kept on preaching my sermon without missing a beat.
I don’t think anyone knew what I did or why.
After the service, the lady came up to me and said, “I get terrible nosebleeds often, and they are hard to stop. I heard you speak that scripture over me, and by the time I got to the bathroom, it had stopped.”
I said, “Yes, it’s a secret I learned from some old-time Christians. Often, they couldn’t see a doctor for things like this, so they had to use scriptures as medicine. Ezekiel 16:6 was their prescription for bleeding.”
If you were to ask me the theology behind this, I would have to admit that I don’t know. But it works.
Maybe Ezekiel 16:6 belongs in your scriptural medicine cabinet. I can’t fully explain the theology behind it. I only know this: old-time believers used it, my mentors trusted it, and I’ve seen it work.
