The Operation and Administration of Spiritual Gifts, Part Two
September 6, 2025Guest Speaker Bishop Dick Bernal!
September 13, 2025I came home from a week-long conference late last night because my flight was delayed and had to be rebooked. On my plane flight home, a lady sitting directly in front of me would give me unfriendly looks anytime I even so much as grazed her seat, which became super annoying. When it came time to depart the plane, the lady got up in front of me, and she was maybe 4’5” with a severely hunched-over posture. As she struggled to look up at the overhead storage bin, I was still irritated, so I closed my eyes to pretend like I was asleep. When I opened my eyes, I was surprised to see that no one around us offered to help her, and at that exact moment, my irritation turned into compassion as this verse came to mind:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,” Galatians 5:22 NKJV
Straightaway, I asked the lady if she would like help with her carry-on luggage, and she said, “That would be wonderful.” After I helped her and her family member with their carry-on luggage, her mood and my mood improved, and we delightfully went our separate ways.
Old and New Testament verses of the day:
“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so.” Proverbs 3:27 NKJV
“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2 NKJV
