There’s a Monkey in Your Mind by Larry Huggins
June 26, 2025Beyond Pentecost
June 28, 2025As I rounded the bend
I found the faintest sliver
of a New Moon
staring back at me
Day was still wearing
her sunset colors of yellow, orange, and red
She had yet to put on
her dark navy cloak of Night
In the Gloaming
I stood resting
in those moments of transition
when Dusk finally lets go
of the beauty of Day
and allows Night to dress the sky
with darkness and starry brilliance
This dainty slice of Moon
was now fully bright
It was time for me to go home
Twilight was over and
I had much to do before
I would see Day pick out
her new colors of Morning
