Why I Believe in Miracles by Larry Huggins
May 28, 2026MIRACLES NOW!
In India, a desperate mother and father came to one of my miracle crusades begging me to help their son.
They told me he had lost his mind. He no longer spoke. He stared blankly into space and sat in silence for hours. Doctors had placed him in a mental institution.
They pleaded with me to come pray for him.
I agreed.
When they brought me to the hospital, I was shocked. It didn’t look like a hospital at all. It looked like a prison.
The entire compound was surrounded by tall cement block walls topped with broken shards of glass. The yard was nothing but packed dirt. A small concrete building stood in the center with iron bars over the windows.
An iron gate opened, and I stepped inside.
Hundreds of mental patients surrounded me immediately.
Their heads were shaved. They wore dirty brown coveralls fastened with large buttons. Many stared at me with wild eyes and twisted expressions. They surrounded me.
Then the young man I had come to see was brought before me.
He stood there expressionless.
His eyes were empty. He didn’t blink. He didn’t react.
I introduced myself.
“My name is Ambassador Larry Huggins. I’m a man of God. Your parents are very worried about you, and they’ve asked me to pray for you.”
Nothing.
No response.
No expression.
I asked him several questions.
Still nothing.
Finally, I said, “I’m going to place my hands on your head and pray in the authority of Jesus Christ for your mind to come back. Is that alright?”
Again, there was no response.
I placed my hands on his head.
It was one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had. It almost felt as though I had placed my hands on a gourd. Usually when I pray for people, I sense something happening.
This time… nothing.
No emotion.
No visible change.
No response at all.
But I prayed in faith and declared him healed in the name of Jesus Christ.
Then I left.
That evening I returned to the miracle crusade. Tens of thousands of people had gathered. Miracles were happening everywhere. The presence of God was moving mightily.
After the service, a young man approached me.
He was handsome and sharply dressed in a suit, white shirt, and tie. His shoes were polished, and his eyes were bright and full of life.
“Excuse me, Ambassador Huggins,” he said. “May I shake your hand?”
“Of course,” I replied.
I shook his hand and asked, “What is your name? How do you know me?”
He smiled and said, “I just came to thank you for helping me get free.”
I looked at him, confused.
He continued, “You came to the mental hospital today and prayed for me. A few minutes after you left, my mind came back completely. I was free. My parents came and got me, and they brought me here tonight so I could thank you personally.”
I took his hand again and said, “Young man, thank you, but remember this: I am not the healer. Jesus Christ is the healer. Always give Him the glory for your miracle.”
Moments like that are what keep me going.
My greatest joy in life is seeing the miracle-working power of God touch and transform human lives.
