We delighted in the fact that several Starbucks coffee shops were less than a quarter-mile from our front door in Washington, District of Columbia. When you're in a time of waiting, these verses help:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6
Be still and know that I am God - Psalm 46:10
We can cross out sin, sickness, and debt because Christ in us has already destroyed the works of the devil. In 1 John 3:8 says, “…… For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”
Instead of asking, "God, where are you in all this?" We need to rely on Him and His word: "For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock" (Psalms 27:5 NIV)
I pulled my phone out, searched for the passage and said to him, "Man, you are never going to believe this- but I was listening to God's Word today and the passage that jumped out at me addresses your story perfectly. Read it for yourself."
