One of the sacrifices of this job, besides my ego, was that I made barely enough money to cover the bills. Most days, I did not know how I would pay the bills; this was one of those days....
Whether it's a family member or just someone passing by, do something good for those you touch in life. All we have our moments, one after another, after another. No one knows which moments will be their last. So make the most of all of them!
I would lay on our hardwood floor in front of the record player for what seemed like hours listening to and singing the songs. Over the years, I have noticed that some of those same songs still play in the background of my mind during difficult times in my life.
As a person that prides himself in forming my own opinion on people, I said to myself, “I’m going to surround this guy with encouragement, positivity and treat him like he’s a highly valued member of this team. Lord, help me break this thing over him, starting today.”
Over the years, I saw God do some amazing things. I had many faith successes through praying and speaking the Word over every situation. I felt almost invincible. Things were good until they were not.
While most generally read with a focus on peace, this time my thoughts kept coming back to “dwelling places, (homes)” that He is making ready for me, taking me to Himself, that where He is, I may also be, and doing the works He does. Our Father, in His great heart of compassion, is absolutely unwilling to do without us!
...one of his nieces gave a book to his wife called "Heaven is for Real". It's a true story about a young boy that dies in surgery, visits heaven, sees God, plays with Jesus, and then comes back to life. Before the wife could open the book, he said, "I'm reading it first!!"
